Health and Safety

BKS Events company policy is to comply with the terms of all applicable legislation or local authority conditions to provide and maintain a safe and healthy environment for employees. The objective of the health and safety policy is to minimise accidents or situations which might endanger the health, safety or welfare of any and all persons in connection with the Company's business.

BKS Events recognises that it is responsible for ensuring so far as is reasonably practicable the health and safety and welfare at work for its employees. It will only be possible for BKS Events to comply with these obligations if both of its employees and clients or other affected third parties understand that they are under a duty to take reasonable care for the health and safety of themselves and any others who may be affected by their acts or omissions and that they are required to cooperate with BKS Events to enable us to perform its obligations.

This includes working to BKS Events rules, following safe systems of work, using appropriate personal protective equipment and drawing any matters of concern to the attention of the management.

All new sites receive a visit from an Events Manager prior to the contract starting. During this visit site surveys and risk assessments are carried out and site assignment instruction produced. On day one of the contract all staff will be shown around the site and all assignment instructions read and signed.
All equipment provided by BKS Events is kept in good working order and will only be used for the purpose for which they were intended. Any defects in equipment must be reported to management at the earliest opportunity.

All employees familiarise themselves with the procedures to be followed in the event of any incident or emergency at the premises where they are working.

Any incident that occurs will result in formal reports being written.

Any employee found, or suspected to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be suspended and subject to BKS Events disciplinary procedure.

Smoking is prohibited at all times during the working day.
