Vetted:
Vetting procedures comply with BS 7858 and as stated a minimum of 5 years previous work history examined. The candidate's history is examined by practical discussions with previous employers, as well as formal written verification. Department of Social Security letters of authority for Data Protection Act are completed where required. Immaterial to the number of previous employers, all are contacted for information and background experience of candidate. Discussions with ex- employers normally gives a good response and prove to be informative.
Character references given verbally, are then confirmed by completion of a vetting form sent to each previous employer. The Department of Social Security Contributions Agency are contacted where applicable. Those candidates with Military Records have their discharge books examined and confirmation made with their serving Adjutants as to their character.
The Inland Revenue work with our own accounts department to assist us in tracking working/non-working periods. Failing confirmation in this area would lead to an officer request for a sworn affidavit for periods of unemployment.
Trained:
On completion of vetting, candidates are then required to undergo a 4 day Special to arm training course, Followed by a days company induction course. These courses are delivered in our purpose built training classroom, which has been given the training centre approval accreditation by both Skills for Security and the National Open Collage Network (NOCN).
Following successful Classroom training the officers will be deployed to site and will undergo up to two days on site training with one of our trainers. Full training assessments are carried out and if the officers reach our required standard they are then authorised to work solo.
All, officers undertake special to arm training those subjects are:
- Door supervisor training or Static guarding training.
- Conflict management
- Emergency First Aid (Appointed person)
- Fire Marshal training.
Additional Courses include
- Arrest and restraint
- Speed cuff course
- Public Order training
- CCTV
- All door then are allocated places on the next available
- NVQ course in Customer Services and Team leadership.

And That Staff:
- Have the correct uniform when on duty
- Have the correct equipment and resources to undertake their duty
- Are backed up by management and staff 24 hours a day 365 days a year
- Are fully conversant in the assignment instructions.
All Staff:
Maintain our strict Codes of Practice in relation to client confidentiality.
Licensed:
The private security industry act 2001 was introduced by the Government. All security officers must hold a security industry authority licence.
BKS will NOT deploy unlicensed officers.
All officers carry their license's at all times.
